Russia: “Holiday week” approved to curb coronavirus

The epidemiological situation related to the spread of Covid-19 and other seasonal viruses is becoming increasingly complicated, as the country is experiencing a steady increase in morbidity, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova said earlier at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia. and pointed out that the number of daily cases is approaching 35.000.

Golikova said the situation with regard to the deaths due to Covid-19 is critical in 18 areas of the country, while there is an increase in cases.

She attributed the increase in cases to inadequate vaccination rates and in non-observance of precautionary measures.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government stated that at the moment the 86,6% of beds for patients with covid-19, specifying that it is 276.500 beds of which the 66,1% have an oxygen supply.

At the same time he said that in 27 regions of Russia used the 90% of beds for patients with coronavirus, noting that it is extremely low collective immunity in nine areas of Russia.
