Russia is winning the war in Ukraine more than we think

The West can collectively trumpet that the Ukraine will beat him warbut the situation is particularly bad for Kiev and Russia is quite close to its military targets.

After the fiasco of the Russian invasion in 2022, the Russians learned from their mistakesupgraded the military and bridged the gap between civilian and military leadership, which is created in time of war, reports the Business Insider.

On the contrary, the Ukrainians rested on impressive early wins and support from the West, while they are now running out of munitions and soldiers. At the same time, the discord in the Ukrainian camp is ongoing, with a typical example of impaling the top Ukrainian general Valery Zaluzny by Volodymyr Zelensky.

Also, the Russia is planning the short-term future because its main issue is whether it will be able to develop and not whether it will maintain what it has. THE But Ukraine is afraid for the long term future, as for the country to develop, there must be something left after the war, such as infrastructure and so on.

“Is it her fault?”

The famous phrase “what's wrong?” can describe the situation in Ukraine, because responsibility lies not only with its leadership, but also with the West.

Europe may have emptied all its old war warehouses and sent weapons to Kiev, but the real support came from the US. But, the American support is in questiondue to the economic problems on the other side of the Atlantic.

CNA analyst, Michael Kofman, said the goal is not only to get more weapons for Ukraine, but also for the West to set limits on its tolerance of Russia. According to him, as long as Ukrainian forces remain on the defensive and they cannot threaten to attack, so Russia will be willing to continue.

As an example to support his words, he brought up the famous Ukrainian counterattack, before it ended in failure. While the Ukrainians were preparing, anti-war voices were rising in Russia and the Kremlin was scrutinizing his moves. But that changed when Ukrainian offensive capabilities declined.

“The goal is not just the weapons or the outcome on the battlefield,” he said on the “War on the Rocks” podcast, adding that “Ukraine must politically be able to deal with Russiaco. If he can't scare Putin, sooner or later he will lose.”
