Russia launched the first carsharing exclusively on Chinese electric cars

In the modern world, it is hard to surprise anyone with a car sharing service, but specialists from Russia have succeeded – they are preparing to launch the first car sharing service in the country, the fleet of which consists entirely of Chinese electric vehicles. The RusHydroVaise company (a joint venture between Sollers Group and RusHydro) decided to implement the project, which, according to the plan, is going to launch the project in the summer of 2022 in Vladivostok, the Motor news publication reported, citing its sources. And next year, the company plans to expand its fleet to provide potential customers with as many as 140 electric cars.

At the moment, the first batch of electric vehicles has been delivered to Vladivostok – we are talking about the Chinese JAC iEV7S hatchbacks, which, best of all, are presented in the maximum configuration. Moreover, all cars in the arsenal of the company are left-hand drive, they have already been pasted over with the company colors of the car sharing service and prepared for launch. What’s more, the company has already launched the service’s proprietary app called Green Crab, which gives Android and iOS users the ability to book electric vehicles. True, now the application reports that there are no free cars – the service has not yet been launched.

Representatives of the company said that for now, JAC iEV7S electric cars can only be rented in Vladivostok (probably, you can’t leave the city), but they promise quite flexible tariffs. For example, it will be possible to take a vehicle with a per-minute payment or for the entire weekend. The main bonus of such a service is that the user does not need to pay for gasoline – the electric hatchback can be charged on free chargers. The RusHydro company is responsible for these charging stations, which has already placed more than 50 charging stations, and in the future there will be more than 150 of them.

It is safe to say that the JAC iEV7S is perfect for those who have long dreamed of trying out an electric car, but could not realize their plans. The electric hatchback has only 116 horsepower at 270 Nm of torque, acceleration from standstill to a hundred takes the car as much as 11 seconds. At the same time, the maximum speed of the JAC iEV7S is only 130 kilometers per hour, and the cruising range reaches 280 kilometers. Of course, setting records on this vehicle will not work, but for the city it is an ideal option.
