Russia lists Greece, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia as “unfriendly” countries

The Russian government has expanded its list of “non-friendly foreign states” by adding Greece, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia, in a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and published on the government’s official website.

Russian authorities consider “unfriendly states” those that “committed unfriendly actions” against Russia. The list already included states such as the Czech Republic and the United States.

According to the decree on unfriendly states signed by President Vladimir Putin in April, these countries are now limited in their ability to hire workers on Russian territory for embassies, consulates and representative offices of state bodies.

Greece has a hiring limit of 34 people, Denmark of 20 and Slovakia of 16, the decree added. Slovenia and Croatia will not be able to hire staff for their diplomatic missions and consular offices, the same is the case for the United States.
