Russia on Nord Stream: We will fully assess the damage to the pipelines before deciding whether to proceed with repairs

“We will wait until the assessment of the extent of damage to the natural gas pipelines is complete Nord Stream 1 and 2 before we decide whether or not to proceed with any repairs,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday (11/18).

Swedish investigators announced earlier today that they had found traces of explosives in the damaged Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelineswhich confirms that there was sabotage.

“The analyzes carried out showed traces of explosives on several foreign objects that were located” prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist, who has taken over the preliminary investigation into the destruction of the lawsuits in Sweden, pointed out in a statement.

At the same time, the Kremlin pointed out, as reported by the Athens News Agency, that the Russian president Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with Peskov to explain that an announcement about the conversation will be issued soon and not to go into any other details.

According to him, there are no talks about a summit meeting between Putin and the American president Joe Biden.

“So far there are no talks about a summit meeting for now,” Peskov noted.
