THE Russia today accused the USA that “destabilize the world” causing tensions around her Taiwanwhere the possibility of a visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, causes her anger of Beijing.
“Washington is destabilizing the world. Not a single conflict has been resolved in recent decades, but many have been provoked,” the representative of Russian diplomacy said on her Telegram account. Maria Zakharova.
These statements sound as one “return to sender” for Moscow, which Western countries, led by the United States, blame for destabilization after the its invasion of Ukraine.
Pelosi this week began a tour of various Asian countries which risks escalating tensions between China and the United States over a visit to Taiwan that has not been confirmed but is seen as increasingly likely.
Beijing considers Taiwan a part of its territory that must be reunified, by force if necessary, and has repeatedly warned Washington against a visit by the senior official, which it would consider too provocative.
Increasingly isolated on the international stage after its military intervention in Ukraine and suffering economically from Western sanctions, Russia is trying to reach out to China.
