RussiA: Organized Trips To Get Vaccinated At Sputnik V

Tourism has paid a heavy price since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. But a new concept could help revive the sector: stays with vaccination included. In Russia, the travel agency Cosmos Travel offers two formulas for booking for Russian expatriates who wish to return to the country in order to benefit from the Sputnik V vaccine, reports the economic newspaper Knowledge. Andrei Sivitskiy, CEO of Cosmos Travel, intends to expand the offer to foreigners when travel restrictions are lifted.

The travel agency has implemented two different options. The first concerns a 21-day stay – accommodation and support at the vaccination center included – allowing the two injections to be received. This trip is priced at 1,500 euros. It is necessary to add the plane ticket, which is not included. It is also possible to book two three-day stays with a three-week interval, this time for 700 euros. Cosmos Travel advises to choose Moscow for practical reasons. But other cities host clinics and vaccination centers that are partners in the operation.

Soon vaccination stays for Europeans?

For the moment, the doses of the Sputnik V vaccine being quite limited, Cosmos Travel has no other choice but to reserve its “anti-Covid tour” only for Russian nationals living abroad. But when conditions allow, both in terms of health and vaccine supply and production, the device could be expanded.

According to Nikolai Bespalov, boss of the company RNC Pharma, more than one European could be interested because “the problem of the availability of vaccines in Europe is very important”, “the vaccine is not available in sufficient quantities” and queues are getting longer.
