Russia: Police besiege Communist Party offices

Police forces surrounded the offices of his legal service Communist Party of Of the Russian Federation on Tuesday (28/9), as well as the office of the first vice-president of the Central Committee of the party, at the time when they were preparing to file lawsuits challenging the result of the electronic voting in the polling stations of the capital, during the parliamentary elections of 16-19 September.

As the lawyer stated in the newspaper Novaya Gazeta Maxim Sikats, due to this siege, the party associates can not leave the offices and file the relevant lawsuits.

According to Sikats, five minutes before leaving the offices, police officers came and began to “besiege” the offices of the legal service. It is pointed out that the deadline for filing lawsuits expires tomorrow, according to the TASS agency.

A similar situation arose in the office of the first vice-president of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Ivan Melnikov, where are the relevant documents for the filing of lawsuits requesting the annulment of the results in some polling stations of the capital.

The leader of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov characterized “Criminal offense” the blockade of the office of the first deputy speaker of the State Duma and party MP Ivan Melnikov.

It is recalled that in the previous days, the party organized many mobilizations across the country, wanting to protest the unacceptable and suspicious – in his view – election results, on a case-by-case basis.
