Russia: President of the Court of Auditors was the first to warn Putin about the consequences of the war in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin of the serious consequences the country will have after the war with Ukraine, writes the investigative journalism site Agenstvo, citing two people.

One person said that Kundrin had been thinking about this discussion since late March, adding that at one of his meetings with colleagues he told them that he was preparing to meet with Putin, to whom he wanted to say that the war in Ukraine would lead in very serious consequences for Russia.

The other person said that Putin did not take into account Kudrin’s opinion on politics, but trusted him for his knowledge of economics and budget. This is why, as he claims, the president of the Court of Auditors decided at this meeting not to express his opinion on the war, but to say that the war is harmful to the economy.

News of Putin’s meeting with Kundrin appeared on the Kremlin website on June 14, but the transcript of the meeting made no mention of the war. The Agenstvo website claims that the meeting actually took place in the spring, but the Russian president’s press service released only a part of what was said, without mentioning that Kudrin had raised the issue of war.

The website notes that Putin did not even react to Kundrin’s statement that the war is harmful to the economy.

According to sources on the “Agenstvo” website, Kudrin, despite his disagreement with the war, does not intend to resign. He thinks it will be more useful if he stays in place and tries to influence the situation, says one of his acquaintances, without specifying what exactly his influence is.

According to the information of these two persons, people close to the president did not dare to say something similar to the Russian president, although there are dissatisfied both between the heads of state structures and among the military. The majority of the dissatisfied, the website writes, have simply lost them, such as for example the president of the Russian bank Sberbank, German Gref. 200 senior executives who are part of the bank’s leadership have left the bank and Gref fears for its future, says a former high-ranking bank executive.

A source on the website who has access to the Russian-Ukrainian talks also said that GRU (Main Spy Service) officials had expressed their dissatisfaction with the actions of the country’s leadership in private discussions.

In early June, the newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda reported that talks on the surrender of Azovstal’s defenders were taking place between the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Agency and the Russian GRU, which agreed in early May on the guarantees of respect for human rights. prisoners. The truth is that the rights of Ukrainian prisoners were not respected, as many prisoners were transferred to the “Donetsk People’s Republic”, and face the death penalty. A source on the Agenstvo website confirmed the information and said that GRU officials involved in the talks had expressed dissatisfaction that Russia had not complied with the agreements reached.

From time to time, various media outlets wrote about other dissatisfied people, such as Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiulina and VTB President Andrei Kostin. However, the only one who has resigned is the former most special envoy of the Russian president, Anatoly Tsubais.
