The Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation proposed to create a register of consents to the processing of personal data of citizens necessary to receive various services. Often this is required in government agencies, banks and other organizations. At the same time, the Ministry of Digital Development proposes to provide citizens with the opportunity to withdraw their consent on the Gosuslug portal.
The ministry notes that users will be able to see the given consents to the processing of their personal data, to whom and when they were submitted, as well as the composition of personal data stored in organizations. Citizens will be able to revoke consent and control the deletion of their personal data. All these features will be provided in the user’s personal account on the State Services.
At a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, noted that this issue needs to be regulated by law, so this requires the creation of a special register. According to Shadayev, people often do not remember who they gave consent to the processing of their personal data and now they cannot withdraw their consent.
