Russia puts Zelensky on wanted list, state media reports

Russia has opened a criminal case against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and placed him on Vladimir Putin's government's wanted list.

The news was reported by Russian state news agency TASS on Saturday (4), citing the Russian Interior Ministry's database.

No further details were provided regarding the inclusion of the President of Ukraine on the list.

Russia has issued arrest warrants for several Ukrainian and other European politicians since the start of the conflict with Ukraine in February 2022.

In February this year, Russian police placed Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuanian Culture Minister and members of the previous Latvian parliament on a wanted list for destroying Soviet-era monuments.

Russia also issued an arrest warrant for the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor, who last year issued a warrant for President Vladimir Putin on war crimes charges.
