Russia renamed Volgograd Airport to Stalingrad and residents again want the name for the whole city

Russia has announced the renaming of Volgograd airport to Stalingrad, restoring the historic name the city had during the Soviet Union and Stalingrad’s deadly battle (1942-43) in World War II. The return to the old name took place at the request of Russian veterans and participants in the Special Military Operation in Ukraine and expresses an increasing tendency in Russian society to draw up with the return to the fundamental authorities of the October Revolution and the Soviet Union.
