Russia supports the implementation of a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine, but only with the proper consideration of the “nuances” of the conflict, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday (9).
“This theme was presented a long time ago on the Ukrainian side…”, pondered Peskov, according to Tass news agency.
“And as soon as it was presented by the US government of Donald Trump, it was supported by President Vladimir Putin, with the caveat that it is very difficult to discuss this in detail if no answers are found for a large number of nuances around the notion of ceasefire,” he added.
Russia has stated that the introduction of a prolonged break in hostilities depends on the establishment of mechanisms to monitor and maintain such a measure.
