The toxic agents seized in this operation are used to make chemical weapons of mass destruction and are designed in the US, stated in a statement by the FSB.
Russian authorities have launched an investigation into the attack and the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction, and three Ukrainian citizens have been arrested, according to the same source.
The Zaporizhia region is one of four Ukrainian regions – along with Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk – that Russia announced it would annex in 2022, although they are not fully controlled by the Russian military.
