Russia speaks of ‘shell destroying Russian border post’ at Russian-Ukrainian border in Rostov

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the Soviet KGB, said Monday that “a shell fired from Ukrainian territory destroyed a Russian border post on the Russian-Ukrainian border in Rostov-on-Don.”

Moscow and its pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine claim that Ukrainian forces are launching strikes in the wider region, but Ukraine denies using fire and notes that it does not even respond to the blows of Russian and pro-Russian forces, as it considers them looking for a pretext to launch a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian border post is located 150 meters from the border of the two former Soviet countries. According to the FSB, there were no injuries.
