Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grusko said today that Moscow’s security proposals to the United States were an attempt to turn a possible military scenario into a political one.
Russia, which has deployed troops near the border with Ukraine, said on Friday it wanted a legally binding guarantee that NATO would abandon any military activity in Eastern Europe and Ukraine.
Grusco, according to the Interfax news agency, said Moscow was ready for talks “in order to turn a military or military-technical scenario into a political process that would really enhance military security.”
