Russia to launch NFT to support people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

For World Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Day, which is celebrated annually in June, the Live Now Foundation and several musicians created the Words of the Future NFT collection.

The project participants were five wards who were diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This is a rare and yet incurable disease that gradually takes away a person’s ability to move normally, swallow and breathe, and in the end takes away the voice.

As objects of digital art, unique NFT capsules were created, each of which will save the stories of people with ALS about love, inspiration and dreams, about the pleasure it brings to live life to the fullest, and how important it is to be needed by someone.

“People with ALS are slowly becoming speechless, so recording the most important words in their lives and storing their voices in a new NFT format forever is what we could do to draw the attention of as many people as possible to eternal values, transience and the importance of the moment is as long as the voice is heard…”, explains Natalya Lugovaya, General Director of the Live Now Foundation.

The NFT capsules have a unique musical accompaniment from Grechka, Elona Miller, Charusha, Give me a tank (!) and Anacondaz.

The etymology of the disease and the conditions for its occurrence are still unknown, so any adult may be at risk.

Natalya Lugovaya hopes that the Words of the Future project will help draw attention to the topic of ALS and raise public awareness. Anyone wishing to help the Live Now Foundation will be able to purchase digital art objects on the Distinar marketplace. Proceeds from the sale of NFT capsules will go to support people diagnosed with ALS.

In early June, ten popular digital artists created an NFT collection inspired by the drawings of little wards of the Russian Butterfly Children charity foundation.
