Russia: Ukrainian attacks have increased significantly, FSB claims

Russia’s FSB security service claimed today that since early October there has been a “significant increase” in Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory bordering Ukraine, in which one person was killed and five others were injured.

“Since the beginning of October, the number of attacks by Ukrainian units against Russian border territories has increased significantly,” said the FSB, which is also responsible for border control.

According to the Russian service, these attacks mainly concern the Belgorod region, which borders the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian forces have recaptured thousands of square kilometers of territory in the last 40 days, reaching the border. The Bryansk and Kursk regions were also targeted, again according to the FSB.

“In the past week, more than 100 bombings were recorded in 32 communities, using the multiple rocket launch system, artillery, mortars and drones,” the statement continued. One resident was killed and five were injured, including a child. Two power stations, eleven residences and two administrative buildings were also destroyed, while eight border posts were damaged.
