Russia vows to arrest ‘offender’ Navalny in case of return

The FSIN accuses Alexei Navalny, who has been recovering for months in Germany after an alleged poisoning attempt, for failing to report to Russian penitentiary services twice a month, as required by the conditions of a sentence of five years in prison to which he was sentenced in 2015. If the FSIN admits to “taking into account” the fact that Alexeï Navalny was for three weeks in a coma in a Berlin hospital, he assures that the opponent does not ‘did not respond to a summons on October 23 and did not “notify Russian authorities until a month later” that he was in Germany, “where he believes he is recovering.”

“The fact of undergoing rehabilitation procedures is not a reason for not appearing for registration” at the prison inspection, further estimated the FSIN, adding that Alexeï Navalny “has been placed on the list of persons sought with the order to take measures to stop it when establishing its location ”.

Charismatic anti-corruption activist and sworn enemy of the Kremlin, Alexeï Navalny was uneasy in August when he returned from an electoral tour in Siberia. Placed in a coma in Russia then in Germany, he was the victim according to three European laboratories of poisoning with Novichok, an innervating agent developed by Soviet specialists for military purposes. Released from hospital in early September, the opponent claims that the Russian security services (FSB) sought to assassinate him on the direct order of President Vladimir Putin. He plans to return to Russia on Sunday.
