Russia x Ukraine: USA and Europe finish 30-day ceasefire proposal

The United States and its allies in Europe are finalizing a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine which, if refused, would lead them to jointly impose new sanctions on Russia, a diplomatic source of France said on Friday.

The source also stated that the proposal has not yet received a green light and would be worked during the weekend in a summit held in Ukraine.

Additionally, US Presidents Donald Trump and Ukraine Volodymy Zelensky made a call on Thursday (8) and talked about a possible ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, according to Zelensky.

The Ukrainian leader made a post on social network X, saying he had a “great conversation” with the Republican.

According to Ukrainian President Donald Trump asked about the situation on the battlefield and it provided a brief recovery.

Zelensky reported that “Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire 30 days, starting today.”

Both expect Russia’s support for this proposal, but for this, the country “needs to demonstrate the seriousness of the intentions of ending the war, starting with a total and unconditional ceasefire,” added the Ukrainian President.

Still in connection, President Trump “confirmed that he wants the end of this war, is ready to help and support the need for a truce,” Zelensky published.
