Russian ambassador to the UN: “It is not realistic” for the moment the ceasefire in Ukraine

Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said on Thursday that the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine is not considered “realistic” at the given time. Placing at the UN headquarters, Mr Nebenzia argued that the failure of much more limited moratorium on blows against energy infrastructure shows that it is not a possible general ceasefire at present. “We made an effort to limited firefighting against energy infrastructure, which was not adhered to on the Ukrainian side. Therefore, under conditions, talking about a ceasefire is simply not realistic at this stage, “the ambassador said. “We are not in a state where we can discuss seriously complete ceasefire,” he insisted.
