Russian state media has released a Christmas video warning “thawed” Europeans that they will be eating their … pets next year if they continue to support Ukraine.
The bizarre Christmas ad was broadcast by Russia’s RT and is circulating on social media.
The video focuses on a family celebrating Christmas. The traditional Christmas carol “Silent Night” plays over the ad with piano accompaniment. The mother takes her hands from her daughter’s eyes to reveal that they have bought a hamster, with a red ribbon tied in a bow on its head.
The girl looks happy and the family hugs. The screen flashes “Christmas 2021” to indicate the time frame. “Christmas 2022” then appears in the video to show that a year has passed. The father places the hamster’s cage on the table. He then connects it with wires and appears to power the Christmas lights.
As the hamster continues to generate electricity, the family sits in an otherwise dark room in Christmas sweaters. The video then cuts from Christmas 2022 to Christmas 2023. There is still no lighting in the house and they are eating a soup, dressed in coats and hats. The man pulls the bow tie from his mouth. The mother then puts her finger to her lips to indicate that they should not let their child know that it is the hamster they are eating. Then, the father rushes into another room to throw up, and the ad ends with the message: “Merry anti-Russian Christmas.”
