Russian claims to have dressed as a doctor to care for his grandmother in the coronavirus wing

Concerned that hospital staff neglected his grandmother, in a ward for patients with Covid-19, a Russian claims that he secretly entered this clinic in Siberia and, dressed doctor, he took care of it himself.

THE Sergei, who declined to reveal his last name, told Rain TV that he was wearing a protective suit and entered the hospital ward in Tomsk. On three days he took care of his grandmother, giving her food and pills, while also changing her bandages and incontinence diapers, he added.

The man even sent a video to Reuters where, as he claims, he is depicted while taking care of his elderly grandmother in the hospital. The agency clarifies, however, how not was able to verify the authenticity of the plans.

For their part, local authorities in Tomsk, a city 3,000 kilometers from Moscow, said investigate issue.

The Deputy Governor of Tomsk, Aliona Lefko, said a commission had been set up to investigate the case. “They are now in unit (…) and the inspection is ongoing,” he said.

The complaint to Rain TV came at a time when Russian hospitals are struggling with a new wave of infections.

It is pointed out that today the Russian authorities announced 1.163 Covid-19 deaths and, due to the increase in cases and deaths, it was deemed necessary to re-impose them in places meters.
