Russian drone attack kills at least two and hurts 32 in Kharkiv, Ukraine

A Russian drone attack in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, hit homes and caused fires on Thursday night, killing at least two people and injuring 32, said local authorities.

Regional Governor Oleg Syniehubov, writing in the Telegram Message App, said two children were among the injured in the city’s Novobavavarskyi district.

Rescue teams were searching the rubble in search of survivors.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov said a third person was found under the rubble.

Syniehubov also stated that a person was injured in a drone attack on Ruski Tyshky, a village outside Kharkiv.

Kharkiv, in the northeast of Ukraine, has been the target of Russian drone attacks almost every night last week, including one hour bombing on Wednesday night (2).

The city resisted the advance of Russian troops by Ukraine in the first weeks of the February 2022 invasion. As Russian forces moved away from the capital and focused on eastern Ukraine, it became a frequent target of air attacks.

In the city of Dnipro, in the Southeast, three people were injured in a mass attack, the regional governor said.

And in the region of Zaporizehzia, faster, at least seven drones attacked targets in the region, hurting one, the authority added.
