Russian forces withdrew fully north of Ukraine, says UK

Russian forces have completely withdrawn from northern Ukraine and returned to Belarus or Russia itself, the Kingdom’s Defense Ministry said on Friday. According to the latest British intelligence update, part of these troops should be transferred to eastern Ukraine, with a focus on the Donbas region.

The Ministry says that many of these forces will require significant resupply before moving into eastern Ukraine, a process that is expected to take at least a week.

Russia maintains its focus on cities in eastern and southern Ukraine, with heavy bombing in these areas, assesses British intelligence. Russian troops continue to advance towards the south of the important city of Izium, which remains under Russian control.

new offensive

The United States predicts a new offensive by Russian forces in Ukraine. The central axis of the attack would be the road from Kharkiv to Slavyanka. The objective: to encircle the Ukrainian forces that for years have maintained the line of contact in the area that Russia recognized as independent countries in Donetsk and Luhansk.

The main effort would be to create a concentration and fighting force that promises to be the decisive battle. If the Russians win, they will be able to split Ukraine into two big chunks.
