Russian Foreign Minister: Armenia and Azerbaijan agree on ceasefire

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on the 10th that Armenia and Azerbaijan, which had been fighting over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh, had agreed to a ceasefire.

The war will ceasefire from noon on the 10th local time, and the prisoners of war will be exchanged and the bodies of those who died in the battle will be handed over.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov talks with Armenian and Azerbaijan Foreign Ministers in Moscow for 10 hours. After that, a statement was issued around 3:00 am local time.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said Armenia and Azerbaijan had agreed to begin talks to resolve the dispute.

The International Committee of the Red Cross acts as an intermediary in humanitarian assistance.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did not mention the details of the talks, but said that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will mediate.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan declined to comment on reporters.
