Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conference with US counterpart Marco Rubio, on the subject of direct negotiations between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul, the Russian Foreign Ministry said today. “Lavrov pointed to the US’s positive role to help Kiev ultimately accept the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to repeat the Istanbul talks,” the ministry said in a press release, adding that Russia was going to work.
