The Yamal-Europe pipeline, which typically delivers Russian gas to Western Europe, sent the fuel back to Poland for the eighth day in a row on Tuesday, according to data from German network operator Gascade.
According to Reuters, data showed that flows at the Mallnow measuring point on the German-Polish border were flowing east into Poland at an hourly volume of almost 1.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh / h) on Tuesday morning, from about 2 million kilowatt-hours by during the night.
The pipeline is an important route for Russian gas exports to Europe.
The results of the auctions showed that Gazprom has not closed its capacity for gas exports through the Yamal-Europe pipeline for Tuesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that Germany was reselling Russian gas to Poland and Ukraine instead of easing the market, blaming German gas importers for the reversal and price spike.
The German Economy Ministry declined to comment on Putin’s statement. Gas importers did not respond to Reuters requests for comment.
