Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs have described a new scheme used by fraudsters to gain access to the accounts of clients of the tap-game Hamster Kombat. According to them, the criminals send messages to users, stating that funds from the game can be quickly withdrawn to their account.
If clients agree to withdraw funds, they are sent a link to a phishing site, after which users completely lose access to their accounts. The department urged users to be attentive to such messages, otherwise they will lose all their accumulated funds.
Earlier, the creators of the “hamster” promised to list the coin on crypto exchanges in the near future so that clients could exchange earned crypto assets for fiat or other digital currency.
Earlier, a survey conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) showed that 42% of Russians know about the Hamster Kombat chatbot on Telegram.
