Russian TV journalist Marina Ovsyannikova was found guilty on Thursday of discrediting the country’s armed forces in social media posts condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
“Evidence confirms Ovsyannikova’s guilt.” There is no reason to doubt its authenticity,” the judge said after a short hearing in which Ovsyannikova described the process as “absurd”.

At around 9:30 pm Moscow time on Monday (14), Russian state broadcaster Channel One’s main news program was interrupted by a woman holding a sign urging viewers to “don’t believe the propaganda” and “stop the war” in Ukraine.
“And they don’t believe the propaganda, here they tell lies. Russians against the war”, continues the sayings of the track.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the case in a teleconference on Tuesday: “As far as this lady is concerned, this is vandalism.”
