Russian man bought death certificate to avoid going to war in Ukraine – Sentenced to five years in prison

The district military court in the city of Ulan-Ude of the Republic of Buryatia, located in Siberia of Russia, sentenced to five years in prison on the charge of desertion in the army, who bought a fake death certificate to avoid going to fight in Ukraine.

According to the version of the interrogation, Zorigo Arabzaev took leave in March of this year and did not return to the army. When the military went to Arabzaev’s house, his son showed them his father’s death certificate. The police later found that the certificate was fake. Arabzaev was arrested in May.

According to what he stated, he bought the certificate because he was concerned about his wife’s mental health, who feared for his life. Two months before Arabzaev was drafted, his eldest son was killed in a car accident.
