Two people were injured and dozens of residential buildings were damaged after a Russian missile attack in the Kiev region, Ukraine, during the night of last Saturday (22). The information was passed on by Ukrainian authorities.
Of the three missiles launched by Russia, Ukraine’s air defense systems destroyed two over the Kiev region, said the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, this Sunday (23).
In a statement on the Telegram messaging app, Oleshchuk did not say what happened to the third missile.
Falling missile debris injured two people who did not require hospitalization, Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kiev region administration, said on Telegram.
The debris also damaged six multi-story residential buildings and more than 20 private homes, Kravchenko added. In addition, a gas station, a pharmacy, an administrative building and three cars were also damaged.
The Kiev region and other areas of Ukraine were under air raid warning for about an hour on Sunday morning, starting at 4:50 am local time (10:50 pm BrasÃlia time).
Witnesses reported hearing several explosions in and around Kiev that sounded like defense systems striking aerial weapons.
