Russian platform SoundStream launches its analogue Clubhouse

Today, May 14, the Russian podcast platform SoundStream is launching a unique project that allows podcast hosts to communicate with their subscribers – Intercast. To some extent, the novelty may seem like an analogue of Clubhouse, since both projects are audio services for communication, but the Russian platform has its own peculiarity – listeners get the opportunity to speak on the air of the content author. In addition, it should be noted that Intercast is primarily an interactive podcast platform, not a social network, and even with a number of interesting features.

For example, Intercast provides content authors with the ability to record their live broadcasts, and thanks to the web version (so far only available to authors), it is possible to realize higher sound quality. Also, in real time, listeners using the voting element can influence the development of an interactive podcast – thanks to this, according to the creators of the platform, it will be easier for speakers to monetize their content and attract a new audience within the project. And, of course, a podcast, the development of which the listener can independently influence, gives the audience the opportunity to feel like a co-author of the content.

Additionally, content creators have the ability to schedule a live broadcast in advance in order to send a link to include on all their social networks, and the SoundStream application itself will notify users about the start of the podcast. In the foreseeable future, there will be a function of automatic recording of live broadcast into the device’s memory, and the author will have the opportunity to sell tickets for his interactive podcasts.

Currently, interactive podcasts are available in the SoundStream app on iOS and Android, the web version is currently only available to authors and publishers, but in the future it will open to listeners as well.
