Russian Post will digitize paper letters to save shipping costs

Russian Post has launched a service for digitizing paper letters. Instead of paper correspondence, addressees will receive their electronic duplicates. True, such a service is available only to organizations and, according to the idea of ​​Russian Post, will allow businesses to significantly save on mailing. This was reported by “Vedomosti” with reference to the representative of the press service of “Russian Post”.

Russian Post offers organizations and government agencies the service of digitizing paper correspondence. Moreover, the mail can either simply forward scanned letters to the addressee, or upload them to the company’s internal document management system, but for this it is necessary that it be connected to the IT systems of the Russian Post. According to the idea of ​​the operator of the Russian postal network, letters coming to the name of the addressee at the post offices will be transferred to specialized digitization centers, where they will be opened, converted into electronic form and re-sent to the addressee. As for the legal side, the Post of Russia says that before providing this service, a nondisclosure agreement will be concluded with the customer and a special power of attorney will be obtained from him for receiving, opening and subsequent processing of correspondence.

The cost of a new service from Russian Post will range from 4.8 rubles for digitizing one page of a document to 60 rubles for digitizing with the introduction of the document into the document management system. At the same time, the postal company says that the new service will allow the business to reduce the cost of parsing correspondence by about 40%. Now processing 1000 letters costs business an average of 35 thousand rubles, and when using the digitization system, these costs will be reduced to about 25 thousand rubles. The service has already been tested at several state corporations and private companies.
