Russian rocket hits TV tower in Ukrainian city, officials say

A TV tower in Vinnytsia, in central Ukraine, was hit by Russian rockets, according to a statement from the Ukrainian state communications service. The city’s broadcasting facilities were torn down in the attack, according to a report. There are no reports of casualties.

A team from CNN in the area reported hearing aircraft and two explosions around 4 am local time – 11 pm Brasília time on Tuesday (15).

The attack on the communication tower is the latest in a series of communication towers that have been hit by Russian forces, including structures in Kiev, Kharkiv, Vynarivka and, more recently, the northwestern city of Rivne.

Officials in Rivne said today that they say 21 people were killed in the attack that hit the local TV tower. Wednesday’s attack is Vinnytisa’s second significant target since the start of the war. Ten days ago, Russian missiles destroyed Vinnytsia airport

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said eight Russian missiles destroyed the city’s airport on the 6th. “I have just received a report about an attack on Vinnytsia. Eight missiles against our city, against our peaceful and lovely Vinnytsia, which never posed any threat to Russia,” Zelensky said.
