Russian sources reacted cautiously on Wednesday to a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire supported by Kiev, stating that any agreement to end the war in Ukraine would have to take into account the Russian advances and address Moscow’s concerns.

US President Donald Trump has reversed the previous policy of Americans about Russia, opening bilateral negotiations with Moscow and suspending military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, stating that she must agree with the terms to end the war.

A senior Russian source told Reuters that President Vladimir Putin would find it difficult to agree with the idea of truce without discussing the terms and obtaining some kind of warranty.
