The Russian company Mobile Inform Group announced that a protected MIG T8X tablet running the domestic operating system Astra Linux has become available to order.

Astra Linux release “Eagle” is included in the register of Russian software of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. As noted by the manufacturer, this is the only Russian OS, the repository of which is placed in the public domain of the international non-profit organization The Linux Foundation.

The MIG T8X tablet is a state-of-the-art industrial tablet designed for many years (more than five years) of intensive use in harsh conditions. Due to the removable frost-resistant battery, the device can work up to 8 hours without recharging at a temperature of -20 C °.

Thanks to the industrial communication port, the functionality of the MIG T8X tablet based on the Astra Linux OS can be expanded: biometrics, UHF RFID, thermal imager, and so on. A built-in NFC module is provided for identifying service objects and working with electronic documents of new standards, including a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, a driver’s license, EKVO.

MIG T8X on Astra Linux “Eagle” is compatible with Russian means of cryptographic information protection, which will make it a full-fledged element of the corporate trusted environment.

As the manufacturer notes, the MIG T8X tablet is developed on a cross-platform (ARM and x86) architecture, and supports, in addition to Android 9 and Windows 10, two Russian operating systems at once: Astra Linux and Aurora. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC or Intel Celeron N3450 processor, 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of flash memory. The tablet is equipped with an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.
