Russian victory for Realme. Sales skyrocketed by 1179% over the year

Realme, the world’s fastest growing smartphone manufacturer, spoke about its success in Russia and around the world. In the fourth quarter, sales in Russia grew by 128% compared to the previous quarter.

According to Counterpoint’s Q4 report, worldwide sales grew 65% in 2020 to reach 42 million smartphones. In addition, the brand entered the top 10 wearable device manufacturers, taking 2% of the global market. The company also managed to grow its user base 100%, from 25 million users in January 2020 to 50 million in November.

In 9 quarters, the company entered 60 markets and entered the top 5 in terms of sales in 12 countries of the world, including Russia. In the first quarter, Realme became one of only two brands in the world with double-digit growth, while in the second quarter it remained the only Android manufacturer to maintain tens of percent growth. In particular, sales in Russia grew by 29%.

In November, Realme entered the top 5 in the Russian market, while sales grew by 1179% for the entire 2020. The number of companies partnering with Realme has grown from 120 to 400 in just one year. The manufacturer confirmed that the Russian market has become strategically important for it.

In 2020, Realme launched 9 new smartphone models in Russia in segments ranging from 7,000 to 30,000 rubles. Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro hit the shelves in November, with the top-selling smartphones Realme C3, Realme 6 Pro and Realme XT. At the same time, online sales accounted for 45% of the total, so in 2021 the company plans to launch its own online store.
