In May 2021, the Russian market for new electric vehicles grew 10 times compared to last year, and the segment of used electric vehicles doubled. This was reported by the agency “AUTOSTAT”.
Last month, Russians bought 638 used electric vehicles, which is 116% more than in May 2020. The majority of buyers preferred the Nissan Leaf, it was purchased 85% of the time. The overall ranking of the number of models sold in the secondary market is as follows:

The 8 largest regions of the secondary electric vehicle market accounted for 51% of the total sales in the country. The Irkutsk region is the leader among them, the residents of which purchased 89 electric cars in May. They are followed by Primorsky (72 cars) and Krasnodar Territories (40 cars). Moscow is in 4th place (35 cars), and St. Petersburg is in 12th place (14 cars).
In total, 2,655 used electric vehicles were sold in Russia in 2021, which is 81% more than from January to May in 2020.
