Russia’s economy is back on track for growth

The Russian economy seems to have withstood them sanctions of the West in 2022, which were imposed after invasion of Ukraine, and is now back on track for growth. That’s what he stated the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin.

The previous year was “a difficult adjustment period”, Mishustin told the State Duma (Lower House). “Let’s be realistic, the pressure from abroad is unlikely to ease. However, we expect that from 2024 the adjustment period will end and Russia will return to the path of long-term economic growth“, he underlined.

Pointing out that international organizations predict a dynamic recovery of the Russian economy in 2023Prime Minister Mishustin referred to some of the government’s priorities, such as improving the welfare of citizens, strengthening the country’s economic and technological independence, developing infrastructure with an emphasis on the transport sector, building stronger ties with friendly countries and search for new partners.
