Ryan Reynolds continues to be confused with Ben Affleck and he is okay with that.
The “Deadpool” movie star and Canadian national treasure explained the confusion during a conversation on the “Dear Hank and John” podcast.
“There’s a pizzeria in the East Village in New York that I’ve been going to for years,” Reynolds said. “They believe I’m Ben Affleck and I never corrected them. I feel like it wouldn’t go down well if I revealed it.”
“I do everything normally like anyone else,” Reynolds added. “They think I’m Ben Affleck and they ask how J. Lo and I are, ‘yeah, everything’s great, everything’s good,’ I grab my pizza and leave.”
When he is not mistaken for Affleck, he adds, he is also mistaken for Ryan Gosling, another famous Canadian Ryan.
“Years ago, I used to play irresponsibly on Twitter. These days, I’m a little more reserved,” he said, repeating the joke he used earlier on how to differentiate him from Gosling. “I said, ‘Well, it’s easy to tell the difference. Ryan Gosling has blonde hair and Ryan Reynold is a [palavrão].”
Reynolds said that if he had acted in “Diary of a Passion” in Gosling’s place, it would have been a disaster.
“That would have failed terribly,” he said. “It would have been much worse, I swear. It would be impossible to watch.”
