The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, expressed the European Union (EU) President Recep Tayyip Erdoάνan during a meeting with the Turkish President at the of NATO in Madrid.
The two men discussed Turkish support for the United Nations in efforts to unblock grain exports from Ukraine, the European Council president wrote in a Twitter post.
At the same time, they discussed the military invasion of Russia and the unacceptable questioning of the sovereignty of Ukraine.
During the meeting, however, Charles Michel expressed to the Turkish president and his concern about what is happening lately in the Eastern Mediterranean, noting that the differences can only be resolved peacefully and by de-escalation.
The President of the European Council stressed to Erdogan that it is crucial to maintain open channels of communication for resolving disputes.
