S. Petsas: The targeted measures will continue

The targeted measures in favor of society will continue as long as necessary, Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas told SKAI.

“The government will continue to support Greek society, the prime minister has said that every euro that is left over will go back to society, and that is what we are doing. Targeted measures will continue for as long as it takes,” he said.

“Doing something faster is possible, doing something less is not, we have 8 billion euros of support measures from the highest interventions at the EU level,” emphasized the deputy minister of the interior.

“From 85% to 100% of the readjustment clause disappears from electricity bills,” he added.

Mr. Petsas said that the ministers have not put down their pencils, in view of the rumored early elections, this appears in practice, and the citizens will reward this at the ballot box.

Fire against Tsipras

The minister launched an attack on Alexis Tsipras for his statements against the prime minister regarding the results of the Madrid Summit. “The suit of the official opposition leader is too big for Mr. Tsipras… Where is Greece’s bitter defeat? Is it possible to say that Mitsotakis failed at the NATO Summit and has to walk back? He himself was the great negotiator?” he wondered.

“Erdogan cultivated a climate before the Summit, and he clearly folded both during the Summit and after the Summit. National vigilance and rallying are needed. Such statements are of no use,” he noted. According to the minister, Erdogan had raised the bar too high for Madrid.

For Novartis the deputy interior minister said it was a real financial scandal, but not a political scandal.
