Sabotage in the Baltic: How the Eagle S tanker is linked to the undersea cable failure

Finnish police today announced that they have recovered from the seabed an anchor of the Eagle S tanker, suspected of belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet” and responsible for the damage to the EstLink 2 undersea cable connecting Finland to Estonia, which happened on December 25, Christmas Day. The term “shadow fleet” refers to vessels carrying embargoed Russian oil and petroleum products.
