The designer, at the beginning of her career at the time, created and sold clothes in London shop Sex. From his hands everything was born, from miniskirts to corsets, from latex trousers to mesh t-shirts finished with studs, up to articles that winked at sadomasochism. Among the loyal customers there was also a group of kids which accompanied the clothes with mohawks, short messy and often colored hair and dark make-up, and which McLaren decided to unite into a group, the Sex Pistols indeed. Thus took the first steps of a movement that was not only musical but also aesthetic and continues to this day.

The haircut that is most associated with punk culture is precisely the crestor rather the Mohawksknown in Italy as Mohawk cuta hairstyle that consists of shaving both sides of the head, leaving a strip of central hair, normally quite long.

Over the decades many musicians have brought it, each finding their own way to do it.

From Keith Flint of The Prodigy who opted for an opposite version, head shaved in the center and high, colored hair on the sides; to Miley Cyruswho in a period of his life sported hair that wasn't exactly Mohawk, but rather rock-punk.
