SAG Awards 2024: everything you need to know about the awards

The awards season continues in full swing and, continuing the events, the SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild Awards), which celebrates the acting in films and series takes place this Saturday (24).

The event, organized by American Alliance of Television Artists Actors Guild is considered one of the main thermometers for the Oscars.

This year, actress and singer Barbra Streisand, aged 81, will be the edition's greatest tribute due to her career. Thus, she will be the 59th personality to receive the traditional Life Achievement Award – for her career and philanthropy.

Where to watch

The 30th edition of the SAG Awards takes place on Saturday (24), broadcast on Netflix, starting at 10pm (Brasília time).

Meet the presenters

Idris Elba will be responsible for opening the ceremony. Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston will pay tribute to Barbra Streisand.

Nominees

The list of nominees for the 2024 SAG Awards was released in early January. The highlight in cinema was the “Barbenheimer” duo, as “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” lead the way with four nominations each.

Right behind, we have the films “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “American Fiction”, which received three nominations.

“Succession”, in turn, dominates in the series category with five nominations. “The Last of Us”, “The Bear” and “Ted Lasso” appear close behind with four nominations each.
