Salary bonus of up to R$ 1,302 starts to be paid on the 15th; see who is entitled

Caixa Econômica Federal will start paying, on February 15th, the PIS/Pasep salary bonus for 2023, with base year 2021.

Payments will be made in stages, starting from the month of birth of each beneficiary, and the amount varies from R$ 108.50 to R$ 1,302.00, according to the number of months worked during 2021.

The allowance can be withdrawn until December 28, 2023. Those who have a current or savings account at Caixa receive the credit in their account; those who don’t have it, receive it through the Social Digital Savings, opened automatically by the bank.

The estimate, according to the federal government, is that 22.9 million people will receive the salary bonus in 2023, totaling R$ 24 billion in payments.

How do I know if I am entitled to salary allowance?

The benefit is paid to workers with a formal contract, with an average salary of up to two minimum wages during the base year 2021.

However, the following criteria must be met:

  • Be enrolled in the PIS/Pasep program for at least five years;
  • Work for PIS/Pasep contributing employers;
  • Have worked for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, during the base year;
  • Having data correctly informed by the employer in the Annual List of Social Information (RAIS) or in the eSocial of the base year considered for calculation. The deadline for this update is September 30, 2022.

If you do not meet all the points, you will not be entitled to the salary bonus.

It is worth remembering that domestic servants, rural or urban workers employed by individuals and workers employed by individuals equivalent to legal entities are also not entitled to the benefit.
