Salary mass grows 4.8% in the second quarter in the annual comparison, points out IBGE

Mass salary of Brazilians rose 4.8% in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE ) this Friday (29) at Pnad Contínua (Continuous National Household Sample Survey).

In all, the salary mass was R$ 255.7 billion. The value is also 4.4% higher than in the first quarter of 2022.

The usual real income, used to indicate the average income of employed people, was R$ 2,652 in the period between April and June of this year, indicating stability in relation to the previous quarter, but falling 5.1% in the year.

The Transport, Storage and Mail category was the only one that registered a monthly increase in income, of 4.4% or R$ 110. The other groups, on the other hand, did not have significant variations.

In comparison with the second quarter of 2021, the real average income increased in the Construction (5.8% or R$116) and Transport, warehousing and mail segments (6.3% or R$152).

The declines were recorded in the groups of Industry (-6%, or R$164 less) and Public administration, defense, social security, education, human health and social services (-11.1%, or R$465 less) .

Considering only the positions by type of occupation, there was an increase of 6.5%, or R$ 110, compared to the previous quarter for the category of Employee without a formal contract, with the others without significant variation. In comparison with the same quarter of 2021, there was no significant variation in any category.

Also released this Friday with the Continuous Pnad the unemployment rate in the second quarter of 2022 was 9.3%, the lowest value since 2015 .
