In the sale of a new tanker, for a high price, it seems that Enesel is proceeding, in the interests of Filippos and Antonis Laimos.
In particular, most of the shipping brokerage reports of the last week connect the shipping company with the concession of aframax “Antonis” (capacity 113,563 dwt and built in 2017), for $ 44.5-45 million.
According to analysts at Banchero Costa, the price is clearly higher than the average selling price of a five-year aframax, which is currently estimated at about $ 40.4 million. However, they explain that “Antonis” has coated tanks and a ballast treatment system (BWTS).
The Capital.gr contacted Enesel to confirm the transaction, but did not comment.
Although built in 2017, the “Antonis” is one of the two oldest tankers in the modern shipping fleet. The rest are either new or built from 2018 onwards.
The Enesel group consists, according to its website, of 26 ships, tankers, containerships and bulk carriers. At the end of the year, the average age of the fleet will be 5.1 years.
In fact, in an effort for further renewal, Enesel has placed an order for 5 LR2 product tankers, which will be delivered in the period 2022-2023 and 2 bulkers, type ultramax, which will join the fleet in the first quarter of 2022.
