Sales of Apple smartphones in China grew by one and a half times over the year

Experts of the analytical company IDC have summed up the results of the third quarter of 2021 in the largest smartphone market – the Chinese. According to published data, 80.8 million devices were sold in China during the quarter, down 4.7% from 84.8 million devices sold in the third quarter of 2020. At the same time, the five largest market participants, whose total share is 86.0%, were able to increase sales.

The leader of the Chinese smartphone market is Vivo. Over the year, this company was able to increase sales by 18.7%. This led to an increase in its share from 17.8% to 22.1%.

The second place is taken by the Oppo company. She was able to increase sales by 13.9% over the year. As a result, Oppo’s share increased from 16.6% to 19.9%.

The third-place company Honor increased sales even more. An increase of 31.7% led to an increase in its share from 12.5% ​​to 17.3%.

In fourth place is Xiaomi. She also increased sales, but only by 0.1%. Oppo’s share for the year increased from 13.0% to 13.6%.

Apple closes the top five. In annual terms, it increased sales by 49.7%, which resulted in an increase in its share from 8.3% to 13.0%.

Analysts point out that 5G smartphones have already become mainstream in the Chinese market, accounting for 77.0% of total shipments. Over the past three quarters, their share has remained almost unchanged.
